Nepacs team take on Via Ferrata Xtreme

A team of six very brave ladies are going to take on the Via Ferrata Xtreme at Conister in Cumbria on 26 May 2019 to help raise funds to support Nepacs' work supporting prisoners’ families. Any money raised could go towards toys, games, activities or equipment for children or families visiting prisons in the north east including Holme House or Durham, or towards clothing or toiletry packs for prisoners being released.

The team includes: Ruth Bibbings from Through the Gate, Sam Clark, Selina Royal, Sandi Long (all from the Holme House visits team), Claire Forster (youth and visits services volunteer at HMP Durham) and Nepacs’ CEO Helen Attewell.

The Via Ferrata uses the original Miners track up the steep outer incline of Fleetwith Pike, the addition of a continuous cable made climbing this magnificent Lake District Mountain achievable and safe for everyone. The Xtreme has much more mountain: edge exposure, vertical climbs, cliff edge ladders, plus a Burma Bridge & Cargo Net crossing.

We would like to wish all of the team good luck and can't wait to see the picture.
